BARDO
Code of Conduct

Last updated: July 2025

At BARDO Inclusive, we believe that inclusion is a lived, evolving practice — not just a policy or performance. This Code of Conduct outlines the behaviours, values, and commitments we expect from anyone engaging with our spaces — whether through learning, collaborating, coaching, or contributing.

We believe that brave spaces are co-created — and that collective inclusion starts with personal responsibility.

1. Our Shared Commitments

We strive to:

  • Take ownership of our energy, intentions, and behaviours

  • Engage in continuous growth, reflection, and renewal

  • Unlearn old patterns and relearn new ways of relating

  • Cultivate humility, curiosity, and the courage to get things wrong

  • Honour the dignity, humanity, and lived experience of every individual

We don’t aim for perfection — we aim for progress, repair, and realness.

2. Expected Behaviour

We ask everyone in our community to:

  • Listen with openness and the intention to understand

  • Speak with integrity and respect for difference

  • Stay conscious of power, privilege, and positionality

  • Acknowledge emotional labour and avoid extraction

  • Respect neurodivergent communication and energy styles

  • Embrace feedback and moments of discomfort as part of growth

  • Prioritise care, consent, and co-creation in all interactions

3. Unacceptable Behaviour

We will not tolerate:

  • Discrimination, harassment, or exclusion based on any protected characteristic or identity

  • Dismissal of lived experience or tone policing

  • Microaggressions, belittling, or dehumanising behaviour

  • Unsolicited advice, especially in sensitive discussions

  • Sharing or using others' words or experiences without consent

  • Disruptive or draining behaviours that compromise group safety

4. Responsibility & Repair

We are all responsible for the spaces we co-create. If harm occurs, we commit to:

  • Listening with compassion and without defensiveness

  • Taking accountability for our impact

  • Engaging in repair and reflection where possible

  • Supporting all parties with care and clarity

If you experience or witness behaviour that breaches this code, you can speak to the session facilitator or contact us in confidence:

Subject: Code of Conduct Concern

We will take all concerns seriously and act in alignment with our values.

5. Consequences

Breaches of this Code may result in:

  • A facilitated conversation

  • Removal from an event, course, client, or space

  • An unlearning and relearning experience

  • Termination of collaboration or service

  • Referral to safeguarding or legal authorities if necessary

All decisions will prioritise psychological safety, transparency, and learning.

6. Living the Work

Inclusion is not a checklist. It is a practice, a promise, and a process.

This Code of Conduct is reviewed regularly and shaped by our evolving community and context.

We thank you for bringing your energy, reflection, and commitment to this shared journey.

Let’s evolve together.
