ABOUT

Creating environments where people and performance thrive

BARDO is a behavioural and cultural change consultancy that helps organisations understand how people think, decide, interact and perform within complex systems.

We work with leaders, teams and institutions to create environments where everyone can thrive by addressing the real drivers of behaviour: perception, interpretation, bias, identity, stress, trust and belonging.

At the heart of BARDO is a simple belief:

People do not respond to objective reality. They respond to the reality their brains construct.

This means that organisational outcomes are shaped not only by policies, processes and intentions, but by how people experience them. Culture is created through thousands of everyday decisions, interactions and interpretations.

BARDO helps organisations understand and work with these human processes to create meaningful, sustainable change.

What We Do

We help organisations move beyond awareness and into action through three interconnected areas of work.

Diagnostics and Insight

We uncover the behavioural and cultural patterns shaping organisational experience, including:

  • Inclusion and belonging

  • Leadership perception gaps

  • Decision-making and bias

  • Communication and collaboration

  • Psychological safety

  • Structural barriers to participation and performance

Behavioural and Cultural Change

We design practical interventions that support change at individual, team and organisational levels, including:

  • Inclusive culture transformation

  • Leadership development

  • Behavioural change programmes

  • Decision-making frameworks

  • Team effectiveness and communication

  • System and process redesign

Capability Building

We equip leaders and teams with the tools to understand and influence behaviour in real-world contexts through:

  • Workshops and learning programmes

  • Coaching and facilitated reflection

  • Applied behavioural science

  • Neuroscience-informed development

  • Practical tools and frameworks for change

Why BARDO Exists

For decades, organisations have invested in culture change initiatives, inclusion programmes and leadership development.

Some succeed.

Many don't.

Not because people lack commitment, but because change efforts often focus on what people should do rather than understanding how people actually think and behave.

BARDO bridges that gap.

By combining behavioural science, neuroscience and lived organisational experience, we help organisations create change that is practical, measurable and sustainable.

Not performative change.

Not compliance-driven change.

Real change that influences behaviour, relationships and outcomes.

Founded on Experience

BARDO was founded by Georgina Brown after nearly three decades leading equality, diversity and inclusion work across the Army, NHS, higher education and corporate sectors.

Throughout her career, she has worked at the forefront of organisational and social change—from contributing to reforms emerging from the Stephen Lawrence inquiry era, to improving representation in complex institutions, reducing attainment gaps and embedding long-term cultural transformation.

That experience revealed an important truth:

Lasting change happens when we understand the human systems beneath organisational systems.

Today, BARDO brings together strategic expertise, behavioural insight, cultural intelligence and practical experience to help organisations create environments where people feel able to contribute, belong and succeed.

What Makes BARDO Different

We don't believe culture changes because people attend a workshop.

We don't believe inclusion is achieved through compliance alone.

And we don't believe behaviour changes simply because people are given more information.

Instead, we focus on where culture actually lives:

  • In everyday decisions

  • In habits and assumptions

  • In signals of trust and belonging

  • In patterns of communication

  • In leadership behaviour

  • In the systems that shape experience

Because when people understand how behaviour is created, they can begin to change it.

And when behaviour changes, culture follows.

BARDO exists to help organisations close the gap between intention and experience, creating environments where both people and performance can thrive.
